Angels Among Us

Angels Among Us

Hidden amongst the milling throngs,
Are certain people who,
By their nature right the wrongs,
Helpful, kind, and true.

Not Holy Angels sprouting wings,
Nor Supernatural,
But simple people whose love brings,
Hope to one and all.

Passing out some kindly words,
To any who would hear,
Or by example feeds the birds,
That their song might enjoin cheer.

Always there is time of need,
To work or feed or weep,
Whether a tortured story heed,
Or a silent vigil keep.

I bless these kind and gentle souls,
That n'er would raise a fuss,
Just a bit more like them is my goal,
These Angels among Us.
