Daddy's Shoes
"Daddy, can I wear your shoes?
The boots with fancy trim?"
"Mommy, see! They're above my knees,
Don't I look like him?"
"Dad, can I wear your shoes?
The black loafers, they look great.
Tonight, I have to dress up fine.
I've kinda got a date."
"Father, can I wear your shoes?
Now that I'm a dad.
Tell me that you think I can.
Of your respect I'd be so glad."
