Eyes To See

Eyes to See

Synopsis:
There are only five senses. But some people possess gifts of such amazing power that it appears to be magic. This book is a collection of five short stories about individuals who have learned to harness and control their enhanced senses.
Doug can “see” reality based upon criteria he sets. For example, during a High School pep rally he once envisioned the gym with only girls and himself. Then he “removed” the girls who would not like him if they knew him. Then the girls disappeared who were not attracted to him. Finally, he identified the two girls who would welcome his physical advances. He succumbs to temptation and uses his power for crime.

Susan “hears” other people’s thoughts. She was locked away in an asylum for years until one psychiatrist finally tested her and believed what she was saying. He took over her case, “cured” her and got her released.

David can smell the minutest things and identify them.

Kandy lives in a hospital because her sense of touch makes everything painful. She struggles with self hatred and suicidal thoughts.

Hailey is suffering from anorexia. Her sense of taste makes her dislike most processed foods.
